Steering with ailerons (opposite)?

Share what's on your mind.

I have a strange question to ask that I hope you might be able to answer. A DPE said that he used to own an AirCam and this is his question, "I could actually steer the airplane on the ground while taxiing by putting in full aileron and the airplane would then turn in the opposite direction. The question is, Why did that work?"

I have no idea why that would work. It seems to be counter-intuitive to what I believe would happen. Any help answering this question would be appreciated. By the way, I have never heard of the AirCam but when I looked it up, it seems like a very cool aircraft.
